SEAN PRICE -- Vice PRESIDENT
My interest in the German language and culture is rooted in my desire to better understand my ethnic heritage. In view of the fact that neither my sister nor I learned German as children, I took it upon myself nearly three years ago to learn the language and develop an understanding of the culture. In my second year of study, I was granted an opportunity to study and work in Germany for one year through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals, which is a fellowship funded in part by the U.S. Congress and German Parliament. As an economics major in my junior year at TCNJ, I completed a semester abroad at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main, which offered me a course load that was both challenging and broadening and forever changed the way I viewed my education. My seemingly unremarkable decision to learn a foreign language has provided me invaluable opportunities to broaden my understanding of the world and my place in it.
BRITTANY CAMMAROTTA -- TREASURER
Brittany is a rising junior majoring in Accounting with two minors in Economics and German, in addition to working a full-time position with Johnson & Johnson as a co-op. On campus Brittany is also an active member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, a volunteer for the community service organization Circle K, and is a founder of the German Culture Club. She was raised in Mullica Hill, NJ, a small South Jersey town, and most enjoys visiting friends in her spare time. Brittany helped create the German Culture Club in an attempt to learn beyond just the language in her classes. She and the three other initial members sought a formal outlet for their conversations about culture ranging from historical topics to food tastings to modern music. Brittany’s personal favorite topics are history and pop culture. This will be her ninth year studying German.
VICKI WANG -- Public relations liason
Vicki Wang, a junior Psychology major, has been intrigued by German culture ever since she first took a German language course in 6th grade. She has studied the language ever since. Vicki hopes to channel her interests into the club with ideas for fun, educational activities and events that allow members to take away memorable knowledge about the rich culture that is engrained in Germany. Her favorite German dish is spaetzle and schnitzel, and enjoys listening to a variety of German artists ranging from indie rock to rap. Alongside German Club, she is also a CAPS Peer Educator.
